PURPOSE

The Alma Schools Athletic Hall of Fame has been created to provide a medium whereby it is possible to honor former Alma HIgh School athletes and individuals who have served the high school athletic department and/or have brought positive recognition to Alma High School as well as the Alma community.

CRITERIA FOR CONSIDERATION

Candidates for election to the Hall of Fame are considered in the following categories:

An Athlete who has earned special honors and/or has brought positive recognition to Alma Schools and to the Alma community is eligible for consideration ten (10) years after graduation or posthumously.

A Coach who has served Alma Schools with distinction and/or has made a direct and significant impact on the athletic department and on the community is eligible for consideration one (1) year after retirement or five (5) years after separation from Alma Schools or posthumously.

An Athletics Ambassador may be an adminstrator, staff member, volunteer, benefactor, or community member who has made a direct, significant, and positive impact on Alma Schools athletic.  Such a candidate would be granted immediate eligibility.

All candidates must have complimented their service to Alma Schools athletics by meeting high professional and personal standards.

NOMINATION PROCESS

All nominations must be received on offical Hall of Fame Nomination Forms.  Such forms must be completed entirely, and must provide documented support for the nomination.  Documentation should, at a minimum, include category of nomination, correct dates, actual awards received, and relevant contact information.  Newspaper clippings and/or other forms of verification are welcomed and encouraged.

All nominated candidates are reviewed by the Alma Schools Athletic Hall of Fame Selection Committee.  All chosen for election to the Hall of Fame will be notified immediately.  No person shall be officially elected to the Hall of Fame until formal approval is received from the nominee or (posthumously) nominee's family.

Those nominees received but not elected are kept on file for consideration in subsequent years.  There is no limit to the number of times an individual may be considered by the Selection Committee.

Those persons elected for nomination to the Hall of Fame will be honored at a formal induction ceremony during the following school year.
